Last week, we gave you the first pass as we toured Brierfield Farm, the location of Flower magazine’s 2021 showhouse. It’s also the home of the publication’s Founder and Editor-In-Chief Margot Shaw and her husband Gates. This week, we complete the walkthrough of the lovely spaces exuding southern farmhouse style, each of the cozy vignettes illuminated by our lighting. If you missed last week’s post, we encourage you to stop by there first, as it begins the story about this home and its evolution.
We’re repeating the video above of Margot’s thoughts on her inspiration and her celebration of the team she tapped to help her realize her vision in case you didn’t have a chance to watch it. And, if you haven’t stopped by to see the products in The Main Event, you’ll find the Boanna Table Lamp, featured below, on sale there. Now, without further delay, we’ll let the visuals of our products in the residence shine!
Farmhouse Style from Currey & Company
Woven natural Arurog reeds create the elemental shade of the Basket Wall Sconce. The wrought iron frame and wall plate in a blacksmith finish are simple in their design to make this rattan wall sconce perfect for casually chic interiors like the ones at Brierfield Farm. We also offer the Basket as a pendant and an oval chandelier.
The Hidcote Table/Stool is made from the traditional technique of faux bois perfected by the French, which involves hand-applying concrete over a metal frame. This concrete accent table in a warm faux bois natural finish can be placed indoors or out. There are a number of pieces in the Hidcote collection.
Polished concrete serves as the anchor for the Oldknow Bookcase Lamp. The wrought iron base and stem in an aged steel finish tease out the dark stippling in the concrete. The concrete lamp is topped with an off-white linen shade, the little lamp perfect for upping the ante on the home’s farmhouse style.
A handsome sprawling shade serves as the canopy for the Brussels Pendant with its subtle oriental profile. In our product offerings as is, the outside of the shade, the stem, and the arms of this pendant are in a French black finish with a contemporary gold leaf on the interior of the shade, which adds contrast to the design. The Brierfield Farm pendant has a custom finish we created specifically for the room.
The Rowan Black Table Lamp has a brutalist style with its body made of long thin legs crafted from cast aluminum. A savvy design note is how the legs were cast to have uneven surfaces. An off-white linen shade sits atop the lamp’s armature. We also offer the Rowan in white.
Inspired by early American farmhouse style, the Eastleigh Wall Sconce is made of white ceramic and wrought iron in a Hiroshi gray finish. The material choices and the studied way the colors are integrated provide the gray and white sconce with a timeless appeal that is ideal for Brierfield Farm.

The Ruxley Bronze Floor Lamp will be popular with any serious reader thanks to the rectangular shade extending from its L-shaped body. But it will also be a favorite of lovers of minimalist design given the profile of the bronze lamp is so lean. We also offer the Ruxley in polished nickel and antique brass versions.

The faux bois stem of our Beaujon Table Lamp was fashioned to resemble a slender sapling. Made of concrete in a Portland finish and wrought iron in an aged-steel finish, the gray concrete lamp is topped with an off-white linen shade. It’s a shoe-in for the modern farmhouse style of Brierfield Farm. The Beaujon is also offered as a bench and a floor lamp.

The Wallis Wall Sconce is wrapped in rope in a variety of thicknesses to make the natural material covering the fixture feel elegantly sophisticated. The rope sconce, which is in our Bunny Williams Collection, proves how masterful the designer is at using elemental materials in surprising ways.
Hewn from natural rock, the blocky body of our Boanna Table Lamp is a naturalist’s perfect accessory, which makes it such a fabulous choice for Brierfield Farm. Complementing the pale tones in the veining of the stone is the metal hardware in a satin nickel finish. The gray lamp is topped with a rectangular black parchment shade that is secured with a rock-like metal finial. The Boanna is included in our Main Event sale going on now.
The flowing twig-like details on the Creekside Table/Bench were realized with faux bois construction techniques. The graceful branching profile makes this table in a faux bois natural finish a veritable sculpture in a space, be it indoors or out. We also offer the Creekside as a console table.
