High Point Market announced the full schedule of dates for its First Tuesday events for the rest of 2021. After launching in January and holding the event in February, the First Tuesday committee found that the success of these initial happenings merits going forward for a full calendar year.

High Point Market Launches First Tuesday

Currey & Company is participating in the First Tuesday events, following the lead of the other showrooms who will welcome retail customers and interior designers by prearranged appointments. To visit us, we ask that you contact your rep to make an appointment and to reserve a boxed lunch. This is important because we want to ensure that all safety measures and government guidelines will be met. Having the High Point Market Authority release the calendar dates for the full year was important for us because it will enable our retail buyers, interior design clients, and vendors to formulate plans for the future.

The best way to see all of our products up close and personal is in our High Point showroom.

You’ll find us in IHFC Main 110, the same location we’ve been in for years, and we’ll be open between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The First Tuesday events take place during the first week of every month over three days, with Tuesday being the most important. Monthly dates are as follow: March 2 – 4, April 6 – 8, May 4 – 6, June 5 – 9 [same dates as Spring High Point Market], July 6 – 8, August 3 – 5, Sept 7 – 9, October [same dates as Spring High Point Market], November 2 – 4, December 7 – 9. There are more than 100 showrooms (to date) who are participating, and we expect that number could grow.

Furniture, Lighting & Décor Magazine recently reported that several initiatives were discussed at a recent meeting of the First Tuesday committee to enhance the value and expand the importance of the First Tuesday buying events. These directives will be announced to the industry as they are rolled out soon. Kevin Castellani, the committee chair for the First Tuesday initiative announced, “Understanding that the Pandemic concerns will be part of our lives moving forward, it becomes important to create different retail buying solutions for our industry. The First Tuesday concept was established to offer retailers an opportunity to shop for new products in a safe and individualized environment. High Point permanent showrooms create the most effective environment with the major suppliers already having locations, to showcase products all year long.”

The Currey & Company High Point showroom is open for First Tuesday events.

Bob Ulrich, our senior vice president of sales and marketing, notes, “We are committed to meeting our customers in ways that help them feel safe and comfortable during the COVID period. But even after we get through this, we recognize that having our flagship showroom open more than a couple times a year for major markets will benefit both us and our customers who can shop and explore our extensive collection at their leisure. Joining First Tuesday and Premarket are steps in that direction, in addition to our commitment to open-daily showrooms in the Dallas Market Center and AmericasMart Atlanta (opening March 2021). In New York, our NYDC showroom is also available for appointments.”
